Recently Dr Tom embarked on a marathon mission to fix this poor horse’s dental dilemma. The problem was a tooth root infection that was causing localised facial swelling and pain, leading to a flow on effect of facial distortion and eating difficulty. As you can see on the X-rays, there was infiltration of the infection into the maxillary bone, which had the potential to spread into neighbouring tooth roots. Dr Tom spend nearly 10 hours on the job, going well into the night to remove this massive molar. The job was incredibly tough, and took a lot of determination and focus to complete. Fortunately, the tooth was removed intact, allowing the problem to be corrected before the infection spread!
