Meet Our Team

Here at the Roma Veterinary Clinic we pride ourselves on our friendly and capable staff. We have a group that we feel are well rounded and each member brings to the table unique individual skills and passions, meaning that we are able to help all creatures great and small. We currently have a 9 vet team, with another 9 support staff to ensure that all of your animal health needs are met!

  

Will Nason

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons) 2003)

Will graduated from the University of Queensland in 2003.  He started work at the Roma Veterinary Clinic as a graduate, and stayed for two and a half years.  After two years working in Europe, Will returned to Roma Veterinary Clinic and purchased half the practice in early 2011.

Will is Roma born and bred, and is very keen on all facets of mixed practice.

Will is an accredited Australian Cattle Vet (ACV) pregnancy tester and examiner, and is also accredited for  ACV Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluation.  He has attended multiple post graduate workshops and conferences, including a 5 day intensive equine dentistry workshop.


Tim McClymont

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons) 2011)

Tim graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 with honours.  He started at the Roma Veterinary Clinic as a graduate, and has loved the challenge so much he never left.  Tim became a co-owner of The Roma Veterinary clinic in 2016.

Tim grew up near Bollon, and thoroughly enjoys all areas of mixed practice, especially concentrating on production animals and helping primary producers get the best results out of their animal based operations.

He is Australian Cattle Veterinarian (ACV) accredited pregnancy tester and also an ACV accredited for Bull Breeding Soundness evaluations.  He has attended a post-graduate course in equine dentistry and ultrasound pregnancy testing in cattle. 


Caron Brindley

Veterinarian (BVSc. (Hons))

Caron graduated from the University of Queensland in 1991 and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in small animal practice from over 24 years in the industry.

She enjoys all facets of small animal practice, which has helped drive her to obtaining her membership in small animal medicine.

Originally from Brisbane, Caron has now lived in Roma for well over a decade and enjoys the rural lifestyle and amazing, friendly people.


Tom Kirby

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Tom Graduated from James Cook University in 2019 and started with the Roma Veterinary Clinic in January 2020. Originally from Emerald, Tom enjoys all areas of mixed practice but is most interested in cattle production and profitability. Tom became a co-owner of the practice alongside Will and Tim in July 2023. 

In 2021, Tom became an Australian Cattle Vets accredited pregnacy tester and bull tester and is currently heading up the bovine AI programs for RVC.

In his spare time Tom enjoys running, as well as supporting the Broncos and Reds. 


Alyse Wood

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Orignially hailing from Darr Creek near Chinchilla, Alyse graduated from the Uni of Qld in 2022. Alyse joined us in early 2023 and has hit the ground running. Alyse enjoys working with everything from horses, small animals and cattle. Alyse has also completed an advanced equine dentistry course in March 2023.

Outside of work, Alyse enjoys spending time with her family, pets and livestock. 


Sarah Meara

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Sarah graduated from James Cook Uni in 2021 and started her journey with Roma Vet Clinic in early 2022. Sarah originally hails from the small community of Felton, just outside of Toowoomba. She has lived on the land all her life and has grown to enjoy all areas of mixed practice. She particularly enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery as well as sheep production. 

Outside of work Sarah enjoys running with her dogs Jiggy & Marge and playing rugby sevens for the local women's team.

At the 2022 Roma Commerce and Tourism gala, Sarah was nominated for the customer service award


Cath Clark

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Cath joined the staff at Roma Vets in December 2021. She graduated in 2010 from Uni of Qld

Prior to arriving in Roma she worked in and around Brisbane in all areas of mixed practice, and has also completed stints in emergency/critical care and small animal hospitals

Outside of work Cath and her family run a cattle property near Roma. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her husband and 2 kids, and she also likes to ultra marathons. 


Henry Gartery

Veterinarian (BVSc )

Originally from Clifton on the Darling Downs, Henry joined the RVC team after graduation from James Cook University at the end of 2022. 

Henry has a particular interest in small animal surgery, horses and all aspects of cattle work. He is exceptionally good at putting dislocated hips back into place. 

Outside of work, Henry plays rugby league for Roma Cities and enjoys a beer or two on the weekend 


Bailey Richardson

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Bailey graduated from James Cook University in 2023 and joined the Roma Veterinary Clinic in February 2024. 

Originally from Clermont, Bailey has had a passion for veterinary science from a young age and is interested in all aspects of rural mixed practice, especially small animal surgery, horse/cattle reproduction and livestock production. 

In her spare time, Bailey enjoys spending time with friends and family, leather work and riding horses. 


Samantha Eakin

Veterinary Practice Manager (Certificate II and III Business Administration)

Samantha is our Practice Manager, and handles the day-to-day running of Roma Veterinary Clinic, as well as the managerial and accounts department.

Samantha started at the Roma Vet Clinic in February 2005 after finishing as a veterinary nurse at Herriot House in Toowoomba, and has become an essential part of our clinic. She is always a friendly face and proves very efficient at handling any request you may have.

 


Riley Catts

Veterinarian (BVSc/BVBio)

Riley graduated from Charles Sturt University at Wagga Wagga in 2024. He is originally from a cattle property at Baradine in North West NSW. He has a passion for mixed practice veterinary work with a strong interest in production animals and equine. Outside of work Riley enjoys playing rugby, touch and water skiing in the summer. He is the owner of a Jack Russell Terrier, Maggie who he enjoys taking for runs in his spare time. 

 


Jane Rowbotham

Veterinary Nurse

Jane is a born and raised local, hailing from a property between Roma and Wallumbilla. She enjoys all facets of horse work, and enjoys riding on her time off. 

Jane completed the horse course at Longreach Ag College in 2015, and then worked on a station near Burketown in far north QLD. 

In 2019, Jane was awarded the Maree Bunt customer service award at the Maranoa Business awards ceremony. 


Jazmin Silva

Veterinary Nurse (Bachelor of Applied Science (Vet Tech), Certificate IV (vet nursing), Certificate III (agriculture), Certificate II (business))

As you can see, Jazmin has completed several post graduate courses which contibute to her excellent level of service and care at the clinic. In 2016, she completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Vet Tech), making her a great asset to our dynamic nursing team.

She is Roma born and bred, and in her spare time enjoys all things horse related. 


Grace McDonald

Trainee Nurse (Certificate IV in Vet Nursing (underway))

Grace joined the team at the Roma Vet Clinic in 2015 and a junior animal attendant and kennel hand. Since then Grace has also begun her Certificate IV in veterinary Nursing.

Grace grew up on a property in the Arcadia Valley north of Injune, and thoroughly enjoys playing polocrosse on her weekends


Dimity Walsh

Registered Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Business Administration)

Dimity joined the team at Roma Vet Clinic in 2020, bringing with her over 4 years of veterinary nursing experience. Dimity has a Cert IV in Business Administration and also also a registered microchip implanter. 

Outside of work Dimity and 2 kids, and in her spare time enjoys dancing. 


Georgia Gray

Veterinary Technician (Bachelor of Vet Tech, Bachelor of Equine Science )

Georgia joined the team at RVC in late 2022. Previously she has worked as a nurse at Manly Rd Vet Clinic in Brisbane. Georgia brings with her a wealth of experience in veterinary nursing, especially in emergency and critical care. 

Outside of work she enjoys horse riding and spending time with her dog and family 


Taylor Sutton

Veterinary Nurse (Cert II in Agrifood and Rural Operations)

Taylor joined the team in Roma Vet Clinic in March 2021. She previously worked in chilcare locally as well as on properties at Tambo and Condamine. Taylor has a particular interest in surgical nursing, although she enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing. 

Outside of work, Taylor enjoys clay target shooting and cattlework on the family farm.

Erin Donaldson

Veterinary Nurse

Erin joined the team in 2024 after moving out from Brisbane to be closer to her extended family. Erin has a passion for animals and has previously worked at the RSPCA and Acacia Ridge Pet Resort. 

She has already proven to be a massive asset to the team. Erin has a dog at home named Artie and a cat called Onyx. 


Blake Petrie

Kennel Hand

Blake joined the team in 2024 as a junior kennel hand. He is an absolute pleasure to have around and takes great pride in his work. 


Tamsin Symonds

Kennel Hand

Tamsin joined the team in 2022 as a kennel hand after school and on weekends.

She enjoys all aspects of working in the vet clinic, with a particular interest in horses. She has 2 horses, Casper and Romeo which she rides at every oppportunity.
